Day One Hundred Fifty Two of Tour--Seattle WA
I didn't get much sleep at all, maybe three hours. Jenn and I spent our last few hours together. I've had such a great trip to Seattle, and can't wait to get back. And I can't wait until Jenn and I stop leaving each other. I drove her to the airport, and we said goodbye again. I'm not getting any better at that.
I drove to the video store to return some movies before going back home. Somewhere along the line Jenn's apartment became my apartment as well. I realized that the past two weeks were the first time I wasn't on tour this year, but rather was home. I tried to sleep when I got back, to no avail.
A few days ago, I noticed I had a slightly sore throat. I felt pretty fine, until today. At some point I realized I was sick. I was achy and tired, just so down and slow. And my throat was really starting to hurt. I had to drive over to the Puma's to deliver some cupcakes that Jenn made last night. I was only there a second. When I got back I tried and failed to sleep.
Now, I had an early flight scheduled for the morning. So early that I wasn't sure if I would make it if I took the first train of the day to the airport. I had resolved that I would have to make it to the airport tonight.
It took me forever to pack up my stuff, mostly due to my feeling increasingly sick. And it was kind of depressing, because this place is really starting to feel like home. I finally managed to get all my stuff together, threw my heavy duffel bag over my shoulders, and began my trek to the train station. It wasn't long before I broke into a cold sweat. I had to stop several times to rest.
Eventually, I reached the light rail. After about fifteen minutes, the train showed up, and I was on my slow ride to the airport. By the time I got there, I still had hours to kill before the ticketing booths opened up. I got out my sleeping bag, and set myself up with the airport floor serving as the evening's bed.
